Analyzing Real Madrid’s Chances of Making It Through the Round of 16 in the Champions League

Who would’ve thought that even after signing a superstar(superestrella), Mbappe, Real Madrid would find themselves in the 24th spot in the league stage of the Champions League this year? Well, certainly not me because as a die-hard Real Madrid follower, the Champions League was always a piece of cake(pan comido) for us. And with Mbappe’s addition, such plight was beyond our imaginations.

That being said, the equation for Real Madrid is quite simple now. Either they perform extremely well in the remaining three matches, or it may be an early exit from the Champions League for the European Giants(gigantes Europeos).

In this article, I’ll review Real Madrid’s chances to make it to the round of 16 and analyze Los Blancos’ remaining fixtures. On a side note, it does not matter how desperately I want Real Madrid to emerge as the vencedores () in these features, I’ll keep my biases aside while analyzing the matchups. So, let’s start:

Where to Watch Real Madrid’s Fixtures?

TUDN, along with a few other online streaming platforms live stream Champions League. However, do ensure you get a reliable internet connection for seamless streaming of such important fixtures.

As for me, I’ve been streaming Champions League nights on Cox’s internet. Their high-speed (alta-velocidad) internet seamlessly streams all the matches for me. Also, if you’re in search of such a quality connection, contact Cox servicio al cliente and find a suitable internet plan at affordable rates.

Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig (Home Fixture, 22ndJanuary, 2025):

Well, Red Bull Leipzig has one win out of their 5 UCL features and currently sits 34th in the league table. Also, Leipzig’s hopes to qualify for the qualification round might have ended with their last defeat against the mighty (El poderoso) Inter Milan.

That being said, complacent is the best word to define Real Madrid’s journey this season because they’ve lost against teams no one could’ve imagined. Also, Real Madrid’s injury list keeps on increasing, and it’s one major factor they may need to watch out for. Plus, as La Liga would be nearing a climax in January, Ancelotti’s team might enter this match with tired legs.

Anyway, if the injury list stops right here, I believe it’s going to be an easy win (victoria fácil) for Real Madrid.

Brest vs Real Madrid (Away, 29th January, 2025):

By the end of the 7th matchday of the UCL group stage, we may get a clear picture of which teams making it through the round of 16. So, either Ancelotti is going to field Real Madrid’s “B” team, or they may play to save their tarnished image( imagen empanada ).

However, even though a remote possibility, this match may define whether Real Madrid would go home or continue their journey to Allianz Arena. And if that happens, beating Brest wouldn’t be as simple as most fans may think.

Brest is currently 11th in the group stage with 10 points. And, they may qualify for the round of 16 before this match, but making their way to the round of 16, after defeating the 15 times UCL champions feel like the real deal (Te sientes como el verdadero negocio).

While Brest would be eyeing to humiliate the former UCL champions, Real Madrid’s best shot wouldn’t be less than a comprehensive win. If Real Madrid doesn’t qualify till the 7thmatchday, their qualification chances may depend on GD (goal difference). Hence, Real Madrid may want to win the feature by scoring as many goals as possible and qualifying for the Champions League’s next round.
